To: All Eastchester School District Parents and Students Re: Computerized Point of Sale (POS) Cafeteria System The Eastchester School District maintains a computerized point of sale (POS) system in all school cafeterias. This provides a convenient and secure way to set up a pre-paid lunch account for your children. You do not have to pre-pay in order to buy lunch in the cafeteria. Cash will still be accepted on a daily basis. There are several ways to prepay an account: • You can submit funds directly to your child’s school cafeteria. Checks should be made payable to the Eastchester Union Free School District. Send checks in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name, grade and amount enclosed. The deposit amount is not limited and there is no fee to make deposits at the register. • You can monitor and/or add funds to your child’s account using the web based “MyPaymentsPlus” at www.mypaymentsplus.com or utilize the free mobile app for iOS & Android devices for cafeteria payments. All payments made on line or using an app are subject to a fee of 4.75% of the transaction amount. o The free MyPaymentsPlus mobile app allows users to view balances, make payments, monitor cafeteria purchase history, and receive low balance push notifications. To download the app for iPhone or iPad, click here. For Android, click here. You can also search: MyPaymentsPlus in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Feature availability may vary by district. o You need to know your child’s school ID number to “MyPaymentsPlus.” (This is NOT the same as the student PIN that is used to purchase food). The school ID is on the emergency contacts forms that are sent home to parents; it is also noted on the student report cards and on HS/MS student schedules; you can also contact your child’s school. The following is a general description of the system and its features: • Every student is assigned personal identification number (PIN) that remains the same, K-12. • Each time a student makes a food purchase he/she will use the PIN number or last name. • A school picture of your child will appear on the screen to insure that the student entering the PIN is using the correct number. Students should not share their PIN number with others. • If the account is pre-paid, a deduction will be made from the student’s account. Each student’s record of cafeteria purchases can be viewed by parents (whether you choose to pre-pay or not) by registering at www.mypaymentsplus.com. There is no charge to register—there are only charges to make deposits. For more information on the POS system, please go to the School Lunch Information tab under For Parents on the District website at http://district.eastchesterschools.org. There is also a FAQ at https://www.mypaymentsplus.com/FAQ.aspx#q17 If you still have any questions, please contact the Food Service Director, Roseann Paruch, at 914-793-6130, ext.4234 or at roseann.paruch@compass-usa.com Sincerely, Lisa Sanfilippo Assistant Superintendent for Business Eastchester Union Free School District
